Welcome to Back To The Fuchsia: A Night of Queer Poetry & Music! Join us for a vibrant evening celebrating queer voices at the Birkenhead Arts Palace.
VENUE INFORMATION:
Birkenhead Arts Palace is the HQ of the Unusual Art Sourcing Company. The address is Whitford Rd, Birkenhead, CH42 7JB and access to the venue is through the black gates next to number 128.
- This is a BYOB venue
- U18s welcome (no alcoholic drinks)
- The building is accessible to wheelchair users
- Vegetarian soup and bread available on the night
This will be the official North West book launch for Back To The Fuchsia - the debut collection from artist, writer and community worker T.S. IDIOT - out with Palavro Press on November 29th.

T.S.IDIOT
T.S. IDIOT is a queer post-punk poet living and working across the UK. A self-taught writer and performer, they cut their teeth on DIY punk gigs and community theatre projects and have since written and produced work for BBC Arts, UNESCO and the Tate. They were shortisted for the 2023 Outspoken Prize for Poetry in Film and the Pomegranate Poetry Prize and have been published in anthologies by Perennial Press, Sassify, Ample Press, Queerlings and HUCK. They have appeared on stages at festivals, dive bars and poetry nights across the UK and internationally, including shows with Attila The Stockbroker and TV Smith and feature sets with Milk Poetry, Raise The Bar, Verve Poetry Festival and Apples & Snakes. They were the Lovely Word Slam Winner in 2024.

BREAD HOTEL
Bread Hotel is not your ordinary artist; she is a musical sorceress who weaves powerful melodies and poignant lyrics into a tapestry of emotions. Her music is an experience, a testament to the transformative power of art. With a live set that’s as engaging as it is dynamic, Bread Hotel has taken stages by storm, captivating audiences with her soul-stirring performances.

PLAZZY BAG
Plazzybag is a poet and tattooer at Fool’s Gold tattoo, Gartson, Liverpool. Inspired by all things melancholic, her work is centred around the mundanity of living and is both sad and angry with a hint of humour.
Plazzy runs a regular creative session - ‘A Life (drawing) Less Ordinary’ in collaboration with 24 hope street, where artists and writers are encouraged to create in their medium, inspired by live contemporary dance.
She performs regularly across many Liverpool gigs, is a regular compere and poet for Mellowtone events and recently supported Folk singer Serious Sam Barrett at the philharmonic music rooms. Her ‘pinch me’ moment was compering and reading poetry at a Steve Pilgrim gig which featured a cameo from Paul Weller.

QUIETING
Music producer, visual artist, and DJ with a background in the UK’s punk, hardcore and DIY indie scenes - along with releasing her own music and sonic experiments, Quieting AKA Maeve Devine, has produced compositions for the soundtracks to short films which include the Trans Performance Exchange project and a video essay produced for The Witch Foundation. She is a regular guest DJ on Bidston Observatory Artistic Research Centre digital radio show Domes FM, as well as commissions, projects and performances with Brighter Sound, Queer Bodies, Unterranean, Oram Awards, Dead Air and more.

HANNAH KELLY
Liverpool-based spoken word poet and theatre maker Dr Hannah Kelly has a PhD in History from the University of Liverpool and has shared her tender poetry on stage with A Lovely Word, The Dreaming, Liverbards and Itch That Scratch
