We’re so excited to announce our first-ever large-scale family event: the Back-to-School Bonanza at the Children’s Museum Tucson!Join us on Saturday, August 23 from 6-8 PM for an inclusive, family-friendly evening filled with hands-on activities, sweet treats, live entertainment, and community connection. This free event is designed for families of children with disabilities to celebrate the new school year in a space where everyone is welcomed and included.
Activities include:
• Mr. Nature’s Music Garden with an instrument petting zoo so the kids can play along
• Face painting and balloon creations from That Balloon Girl
• Cosplay characters
• Oobleck and galaxy tube STEM activities
• Special Eats grilled cheese food truck
• Goodie bags for the first 100 kids
• Volunteers on-site to serve as an extra set of hands and to help entertain kids
• Vendor booths of businesses and organizations that serve the Southern AZ community
• A raffle and silent auction with a wide range of items, tickets, and self-care services
• An adult changing table in a private room
• A sensory room away from the commotion, with noise-canceling headphones available
We’re currently seeking support from individuals and businesses who believe in what we do.
You can make this event possible by becoming a Friend of the Event ($250) or a Community Sponsor ($500). Larger sponsorships with the opportunity to have a booth at the event are also available.
Your sponsorship doesn’t just support this event, it helps fund our year-round programming for family caregivers, including support groups, mental health services, community events, advocacy, and education.
