George Shearing, a working class blind boy from Battersea grew to become a brilliant, US Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and one of the best-selling jazz artists of all time. Simon Brown leads his quintet in a celebration of Shearing's unique sound with a set that includes favourites such as 'Pick Yourself Up', 'September In The Rain' and 'Lullaby of Birdland'.
Referencing the vocal as well as instrumental output, the quintet are delighted to be joined by special guest singer Lizzie Blissett to perform some of the best-loved tunes arising from Shearing’s collaborations with vocalists including Peggy Lee and Nancy Wilson.
