About this Event
Join us on Sunday 20th October for a family-friendly introductory foraging walk and talk, where we will be exploring the many ways that we can tune into the natural environment. We will learn to identify and forage edible herbs and plants, learn about traditional herbal medicine, explore meditative listening and tea tasting.
For our final walk of the year before we pause for winter, we will be exploring the gift of seasonal wild berries and each making an oxymel medicine to take home.
All ages are welcome, so bring your aunties, grandparents, children or friends.
The walk will be facilitated and run by Frankie and Bekah from Back A Yardd collective.

? Who we are ?
Back a Yardd is a South-London based community-focused collective which aims to reconnect people of the Global Majority back to the land.
We believe that our communities deserve to have more knowledge and autonomy over our health and wellbeing.
Through making foraging, herbal medicine making, and meditative practices more accessible, we encourage and help our local London community to re-adopt ancestral knowledge and re-learn indigenous practices. We introduce individuals to the plant foods and medicines that grow readily available and abundantly all around us in the city.
The phrase ‘back a yard’ is a Caribbean term that literally translates to mean “the way things are done back home.”
We want to help our local community to feel companionship with the natural world and more connected to our surroundings.
Back a yardd are anti racist, decolonial, trans-inclusive, queer friendly, inter-faith, culturally appreciative and age inclusive. Whilst we will centre the experiences of people of the Global Majority, it is open to everyone.
I f you have any questions, please feel free to send us an email at [email protected]
We hope to see you on a walk with us soon ?
