About this Event

Join The Amani Effect this February for our "Back 2 Roots: BHM Edition" cultural cooking workshop as we will explore the rich culinary tradition of Senegal! During this interactive session, we’ll prepare Thiebou yapp - a rice-based dish with meats and vegetables - and fatayas and pastels (beef and fish pies).

This is a space to celebrate community, embrace culture, and connect through stories and traditions.

Free workshop but limited spots available—secure your spot today!

Note this workshop is for Black youth ages 16 to 35

What to Expect:

  • Hands-on Cooking: Get involved in making a variety of Senegalese delicacies. Learn how to bring out the best flavors and create a delicious dish.
  • Cultural Significance: Learn about the stories and culture of Senegal
  • Community Experience: Connect with others as we cook, share stories, and enjoy the meal together.

(If you are coming with someone else, each person needs a ticket)
