How does it work?
We will have the workshop on Saturday, June 29, from 1-4pm. You can choose to take 1 class, or you can sign up for all 3! We are capping each time slot at 20 people. Here's the schedule:
1-2pm: Beginner class
2-3pm: Intermediate combinations
3-4pm: Partner work & styling
What will I learn?
Regardless of if you are a Lead or a Follow, you will learn the foundations of Modern Bachata. Basic footwork steps, partner positions, turns, essential cues, musicality, and some of the most common movements in bachata.
Do I need a partner to join?
You don't need a partner to join the class. You will rotate during the class switching partners, so you learn how to dance with different Leads and Follows. However, if you sign up as a couple and only want to dance with your partner, you can also do that! Whatever you feel comfortable with.
Will you be able to focus on me?
We are limiting our class to 20 students so that we can prioritize each student. Our goal is to ensure everyone in the class gets enough attention and properly learns the basics of bachata. The objective is that by the end, you feel you have enough tools to lead or follow a bachata song as a beginner and build that confidence to continue growing from there. We will also do our best to ensure the class is balanced (similar number of follows and leads) so that nobody is standing out for multiple turns. Our focus will be quality, not quantity.
What is the cost?
The cost of 1 class is $15, or you can purchase all 3 classes (the whole workshop) for $40. Refreshments will be provided. You can send payment in advance via Eventbrite or through Venmo (@Sara-Schall-3) / CashApp ($sarakschall) to Sara Schall to secure your spot. Price goes up to $45 if purchased at the door.
