About this Event
Finally, what many of you have been asking for, weekend bachata dance classes. This event will be broken down into 3 workshops for people of all dance levels.
Instructor: Tiffany Vlard
Local Baltimore dancer/instructor Tiffany Vlard will be curating your bachata dance experience during this Saturday of workshops. She has background in lead/follow dancing allowing her to guide both sides of the dance. Tiffany prides herself in being at the forefront of elevating the skills of Baltimore Latin dancers, creating local weekly classes, socials, workshops and 1:1 private lessons.
Bachata Partnerwork Foundations (intro/beginner) | 12-1pm
This workshop will focus on the basics and fundamental skills of bachata footwork and partnerwork. You do not need to have a background in dancing bachata as you will learn in this in the workshop. You also do not need a partner. If you're interested in learning a new dance or have been to beginner bachata classes before and want to master the basics, this workshop is for you!!
Bachata Body Frame Workshop | 1:30–2:30 PM
Build a strong foundation in bachata by mastering the essentials of body frame and partner connection. This workshop is designed for dancers of all levels, whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or a seasoned dancer refining your technique. We’ll focus on engaging your core and activating the proper muscles to maintain your dance frame. Using tools like resistance bands and stability balls, you’ll learn to control your movements and improve your ability to lead or follow with confidence and precision. No partner is required for this session!
Bachata Intermediate Partnerwork (advanced beginner/intermediate) 3-4pm
This workshop is geared toward those who have a background in bachata and are looking to incorporate new moves and higher level of fundamentals in their dancing. The workshop will incorporate some concepts and moves from the body waves, rolls, and isolations class into a partnerwork pattern. This is a perfect workshop to test all that you've learned!
FREE 2 -Hour Parking
There is free 2 hour garage parking for workshops available at the Exeter Street Parking Garage at 650 S Exeter St. Follow signs for MAC an park near the exit ramp kiosks. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor labeled MAC. Validate parking at the front desk kiosk upon arrival.
Need to Know
- Dance Partner is NOT Required
- Dance shoes or shoes with a smooth sole is best. Otherwise wear socks
- Gym membership is NOT necessary to purchase a ticket
