Copenhagen-based American tenor Tyler Ray performs as a soloist and ensemble singer, performing a wide range of repertoire spanning from medieval compositions to world premieres.
Tyler holds a Master’s degree in Voice: Early Music, Art Song, and Oratorio from the Yale School of Music and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.
Solo performance highlights from past seasons include Mozart’s Requiem and Bach’s St. John Passion (Evangelist) with Bergen Domkor, Handel’s Messiah with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 with Yale Schola Cantorum under the baton of David Hill, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Yale Camerata, Bach’s Missa in G minor conducted by Masaaki Suzuki, Arvo Pärt’s Passio (Pilate) with Yale Schola Cantorum, Stravinsky’s Les Noces with Yale Camerata, Haydn’s Creation (Uriel) conducted by Jeff Douma, Bach’s Mass in B minor with Bergen Domkor, Bach’s Himmelfahrtsoratorium with Ensemble Zimmerman, and most recently as a soloist in Bach’s BWV 12 and 106 with Aarhus Domkirke Kantori, conducted by Kristian Krogsøe.
An avid chamber musician, Tyler has sung with numerous professional ensembles, including DR Vokalensemblet, Hemidemisemi Consort, Ars Nova Copenhagen, Yale Schola Cantorum and Edvard Grieg Vokalensemble.
