What is a memory? A melody? A landscape? The scent of a flower? A shadow on the wall? A feeling that resonates long after a moment has passed?Welcome to Project Goldberg, a live concert that explores the connections between music and the stories we carry within us—through images. In this performance, Bach’s fantastic Goldberg Variations are not only heard but also seen.
Through the fusion of live piano and video projections, Project Goldberg transforms the concert hall into a space of contemplation and wonder. It invites the audience on a journey in which abstract and figurative imagery unfolds into a hidden, personal narrative—illuminated by the music.
At the heart of Project Goldberg lie simple questions: What cannot be expressed through music alone? And what do we see when we listen? The visual world of the project is based on footage I have gathered over the past year: poetic landscapes, abstract textures that grow and fade with the music, and figurative elements. These images form a canvas for the imagination—a counterpoint to Bach’s genius—composed to express what I have long wished to say.
The performance traces a path from introspection and grief toward a sense of hope and transcendent connectedness, suggesting that, in the end, we are all part of something much greater.
This is more than a concert. It is a shared space to feel, to remember, and to look ahead.
