Bacalar is named "The Laguna of 7 colors" because of its ever changing hues of clear, turquoise water. Bacalar is one of the largest lakes in Mexico and is an absolute paddler's paradise. As it is with all of our destination trips- our aim is to get you off the beaten path into a more authentic experience of this beautiful landscape and culture. The Bacalar adventure is "all levels" and everyone is welcome! The itinerary is full of breathtaking tours and excursions, but there will be plenty of time to relax and soak in the tropical sun. This trip is lead by, Erin O'Malley, the owner of Sunset Stand Up. Erin is a level 2 American Canoe and Kayak Instructor and has been guiding internationally for over a decade. She brings knowledge, fun and passion to every trip she leads.
The majority of our stay will be at Diosa Del Agua in the town of Bacalar just steps from the lagoon. Trip highlights include-
*A Welcome Dinner at Diosa Del Agua
*Two half day paddle tours of the lake and its winding canals through the mangroves.
*A visit to Sac Atun "Pet Cemetery"Cenote and Tulum.
*Full day of snorkeling/freediving off of Banco Chinchorro (optional free day).
*Sunset Catamaran tour with Adventure Lab.
*Temezcal Ceremony with local guides.
*Float and beach day at Los Rapidos.
All transportation to and from Playa Del Carmen, boutique lodging + breakfasts, and all activities (except Banco Chinchorro snorkeling) are included. All double/shared rooms come with 2 beds.
