This course offers an official certification in Babysitting Safety from the American Safety & Health Institute for youth ages 11-16.
Date: Monday, January 15, 9a-11a (There is no school on this day.)
This is a BLENDED LEARNING COURSE, meaning that online coursework that we provide must be completed prior to the class. Upon registering and within approx. 24 hours, A COURSE LINK EMAIL will be emailed out for the student to work on and complete prior to the class date. The course videos will take approximately 2 hours to complete, so please plan accordingly. Students must complete the online course in order to come to the in-person skills class.
Course topics include:
Babysitting Safety: Babysitting as a business; Safety and injury prevention guidelines and best practices; Leadership strategies to build confidence when responding to conflict; Tips on age-appropriate play; How to build rapport and stay engaged with children; Basic caregiving skills such as feeding, burping, diapering, and safe sleep practices; Basic first aid for common incidents.
Location of in-person skills class: Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Rd S, Jacksonville, FL 32207 - Fellowship Hall.
Upon successful completion of both the online course and the in-person skills class, student will receive a digital certification card.
Our cancellation/refund policy: Once an online course link is emailed out, the course is only 75% refundable if you choose not to take it. Same day cancellations or no-shows cannot be rescheduled except under case by case circumstances.
