Session 5 of the Babylon 4: Journey in the Dark larp.------
News arrives from Centauri space: Andala Maray is the name on everyone's lips, this rising star of the opera world has made a splash in the Royal Court with her new opera “The Honest Man”. She’s been wined and dined by all the Lords and Ladies from Immolan V to Golus III and now she’s on her way to Babylon 4!
Earthgov, in an effort to strengthen ties with the Centauri government, has invited Andala Maray to tour the station and is hosting a meet-and-greet for the station personnel, diplomatic staff, and associates. Following the event, Andala will be performing one of the songs from her opera, the first time any part of it has been performed outside Centauri space.
In what some might consider more important news: A new alien race has made contact. The Sh’lassen Triumvirate has reached out to the rest of the galaxy with a message of greeting. Their system is a dim star, previously unnoticed near the Narn/Centauri border. They activated their jumpgate, connecting to the Ceti System, and are sending a diplomat to Babylon 4 to make first contact.
Meanwhile the intergalactic science community, in association with IPX, has announced that they have just completed a detailed long range scan of known space using new telescopes, and have discovered over a dozen new stars. These new systems have been named and catalogued but as yet nothing more is known about them. New star charts will be released soon.

OOC: We'll be updating the star map at the session. The goal with these changes was to fill holes and create more options. This has meant adjusting some boarders slightly, but IC no one has gained or lost any territory, the map is abstract like a train map, representing rough relationships and borders rather than literal volumes of space.
