Babydoll: A New Play Workshop
Join us for the theatrical debut and workshop of Bianca Sass's new play, Babydoll, at the Looby Theater (2301 Rosa L Parks Boulevard) at 7pm on Wednesday September 27th! Presented by Bianca March Productions, this is a free event that will feature an audience talkback after the show!
Drawing from the themes and conflicts laid out in Ibsen's A Doll's House, Babydoll brings the question of how to be both a woman and an individual into the 21st century. Set in the near future, Babydoll tells the story of Nora, a college student who, after facing a shocking betrayal, must fight for her body, her self, and her future alone in a post-Roe world.
Please note that this show engages in frank discussion of abortion, though it is not graphic.
The show will run for approximately 2 hours, including intermission.
Donations at the door are encouraged. Half of all proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi.
