Why: To learn how to create your own regalia on a smaller scale and to prep the babies for powwow season...start them young so they carry that with them for life..
Charlene Tootoosis comes from Poundmaker Sask but came to Alberta to raise her children and now helps raise and teacher her 7 grandchildren about where they come from. When her children were young they started to follow the powwow trail an she began making their regalia as not many makers were around. Charlene has singlehandedly made most of their outfits through the years an has helped many others create their own designs/regalia. Today she continues to do so as her goal is help as many indigenous people connect to their roots through the powwow circle.
