These fitness classes are designed for new moms who are looking to build strength with a balance of meditative practices sprinkled throughout.
Personally, I know how isolated and tired you can feel as a new mom. During this time, I found connecting with movement when I could and coming back to a more mindful approach through yoga and pilates really helped ground me. That's exactly why I wanted to offer this series. What better way is there to spend every Tuesday afternoon than with your baby, getting fit in a spacious and beautifully lit studio?! Even if you just lie in savasana for most of the class - that's a win.
A mix of yoga and pilates will give you the perfect combination of strength and mindfulness. There will be a focus on core, back muscles for posture, and pelvic floor exercises. I'll cue optional weights, guide you through breathwork, and end with meditation.
You're welcome to include your baby in the fitness class or have them rest on a blanket beside you. It's a great chance for your little one to be exposed to other babies encouraging opportunities for development and potential smiles.
Babies are free to nap, cry, feed, and move in whatever way they need! The intention is to never feel as though your baby is bothering others. In this group, we've ALL experienced these moments. ;)
Andrea is a certified fitness and yoga instructor with prenatal and postnatal training. She'll be bringing along her own little side kick for the series.
What to expect in these fitness classes:
- A mix of yoga and pilates

- Strengthening and toning with optional weights
- Full body strength, core, posture, and flexibility
- Bonding time with your baby and other moms!
- Group motivation
- A chance to talk about the joys and challenges you're facing as a new mom
Please note, it's recommended to start these classes and any other movement after you've healed from about 6-8 weeks of recovery.
We'll have a mat ready for you, a blanket for baby to relax on, and props to use during the classes. You're always more than welcome to bring your own mat and blanket as well.
