Join us for a memorable BA5 with the team from Kainga Aroha Community House.

Kainga Aroha Community House was established in 1984 by Bruce & Steph Owen and Dennis Howell. Originally based in Kihikihi, it was a drop-in centre for tamariki and rangatahi, holiday programmes and camps, budgeting and family assistance to local whānau.
Due to the increased demand for services over the years, in 2007 Kainga Aroha moved to Bank Street in Te Awamutu and this is where the premises is still located today.

Kainga Aroha Community House has grown significantly over the years, and now offers:
Financial Mentoring (budgeting): Assistance with dealing with debt management, formulating a realistic cash flow budget and provide advocacy with creditors/debtors and Work & Income if necessary.
Family Support: Assistance with a wide range of issues such as parenting, dealing with government agencies self-confidence and other ways of developing strength.
Family Harm Interventions.
Ahurutanga: Supervised contact for children through the Department of Justice.
Counselling: Relationship, anger, grief, depression, self-esteem and childhood trauma.
Children’s Holiday Programme: Annual camp during the Christmas school holidays for children aged 7 - 14 years.
Staff and volunteers are also connected to major projects including the Foodbank and Operation Christmas Hamper.
The Christmas period can be an incredibly stressful time for some families in our community, especially those who have limited resources.

We kindly ask that our Chamber Members bring a koha (donation) to this BA5 event for the Foodbank / Christmas Hamper project. Your donation big or small is greatly appreciated and would make a huge difference to those in need.
