MTG stands for Museum, Theatre, and Gallery, showcasing a regional museum, art gallery, and the Century Theatre. The complex includes an art deco building, a modernist gem, and a light-filled gallery with ocean views, telling the region's stories, including the legacy of the 1931 earthquake and art deco architecture.
Join us from 4:30 pm to wander through the gallery and explore the current exhibitions, including "The Light Shone Clear," "Rita Angus," and "Purakau o Te Whenua."
At 5 pm, we will gather in the MTG Century Theatre foyer for drinks, nibbles, and presentations from our distinguished speakers.
Laura Vodanovich, MTG Director: Will discuss the new Hawke’s Bay Regional Museum Research and Archive Centre and future plans for MTG.
Jeanette Kelly, MTG Foundation Chair: Will share the Foundation’s role in supporting the collection and the new Research and Archive Centre.

Speakers:
Laura Vodanovich:
Laura has over 25 years in the museum and gallery sector, with significant experience in collection management and senior roles. She has overseen major projects at Auckland Museum and Tairāwhiti Museum. Laura holds advanced degrees in museum studies, law, and collection management.
Jeanette Kelly:
Jeanette is the Chair of the MTG Foundation and a Trustee of the HB Museums Trust. She is a founding partner of Hawthorne Country House and Hawthorne Coffee Roasters. Jeanette has been deeply involved in local tourism and food groups in Hawke's Bay.
