Higher Intermediate Dutch (In Zicht Chapter 1-4)Join our B1 part 1 Dutch course when you can already use your Dutch quite a bit, but want to expand your conversation topics and use more elaborate sentence structures. This course is intended for students who finished the A2 courses.
We make sure to have an enjoyable mix of speaking activities, vocabulary building, improving listening skills and grammar. Writing exercises are usually homework. You can send them to the teacher for correction and we also discuss them in class.
What do I learn in this course?
After completing this course, you know how to use:
• conjunctions (hoewel, nadat, terwijl, hoewel)
• present perfect (ik heb gelopen)
• Simple past (ik liep)
• Past perfect (ik had gelopen)
• the use of er
• the use of zullen and zouden
• direct statements and indirect statements (ik denk dat…, hij heeft gezegd dat…)
• verbs with fixed prepositions (spreken over, informeren naar, …)
After this course, you’re able to discuss and use vocabulary of the following topics:
• Your passed weekend
• Some past event or anecdote
• Future plans and dreams
• Dutch culture
• Cultural activities
• Household vocabulary
• Traffic accidents
After this course, you’re able to:
• Talk about the past
• Make a proposal or a promise
• Talk about your daily activities
• Talk about wishes and fictional situations
• Give your advice
• Ask polite questions
• Ask for information or help

• Talk about cultural activities
• Discuss and give your opinion
• Ask for information
• Use the verbs of position (staan, liggen, zitten, hangen)
