On Sunday, July 21st from 2p to 8p, Buildings and Food is throwing an all-inclusive Block Party inside Taste of Tremont with bands, DJs, food, and drink to raise $30k for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank—the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio.
The Food Bank Block Party will be a “party within a party” at Taste of Tremont. Buildings and Food will offer food and alcoholic beverages on Jefferson Avenue between West 7th Street and Thurman Avenue. The concert stage will be at the bottom of Jefferson Ave., at West 7th Street. The gradual downward slope of the street will create an amphitheater-type atmosphere. Block Party guests will be able to come and go from the Block Party via Professor Avenue to visit Taste of Tremont vendors.
"Rather than the traditonal festival model of jamming as many people into the space as possible, then selling food and beverage (which results in long lines for bathrooms and vendor stalls, and general mayhem), our idea is to make the party all-inclusive to fewer people, to provide a very cool respite from the hot chaos of Taste of Tremont. Come enjoy our bands, and food, and drink, but also enjoy our real bathrooms! Enjoy our air conditioning! Come and go from the main street fair as you please, while knowing you can always return to our Block Party to have another snack, another drink, and catch the next act. Wesley Bright & The Honeytones are a soul band from the funky rust belt town of Akron, OH. Wesley jumped onto the soul scene in 2011 and consistently made the statement at live shows that they were complete fire! With a groove heavy 3-piece rhythm section and a 3-piece horn section, Wesley Bright & The Honeytones lit up stages throughout the Midwest and Canada until 2019 when Wesley decided to spend time away from the stage to take care of his now family of seven. But they're back for a limited time only—DO NOT MISS THEM!
Hailing from Northeast Ohio, The Admirables have created a live experience that is all about good vibes. Going to an Admirables show is a party. Bold and funky earth tones from the horns at the front line lead the band through dynamic twists and turns with hypnotic grooves from the rhythm section. Whether The Admirables are jamming on a trap groove or laying down the funk, their #1 goal is to get you moving. The band calls upon many of the feel-good muses of groove music such as Kool & the Gang, J-Dilla, James Brown, Erykah Badu, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock. As the old adage goes—music is food for the soul. The Admirables will get you fed.
