It is not practicable to do all 5 of theses hills on the same day, but they have all been suggested by members for this programme. They have therefore been grouped into 3 options for walkers to choose from on the day. Any option(s) not taken up can be postponed to a future programme.
Option 1: ?’ ???????????? ????? ??? ???? ?? ????. Two Munros with easy access and an elevated start at 390m alt. Fence posts on the boundary line marked on the OL map may assist navigation. Start from lay-by #88 just S of the snow gates on the E side of the A9, NN639823. Follow the A9 S for 200m and turn E on to a track. Climb SE up the track to a junction just before a summit, 902m. This is the site of an old quarry, now filled in. Take the right fork and head S on the track(ex) to a large cairn surmounted by a slab at NN658(34)792(88). Turn ESE and follow the line of two white cairns to regain the track, which by-passes the summit of A’ Bhuidheanach, 879m(lr). Continue to the end of the track at NN658(34)788(39), on a watershed. Alternatively, head directly over A’ Bhuidheanach to reach the same point. Climb the slope S on a faint path to the summit of A’ Bhuidheanach Bheag, 936m. Retrace steps all the way back to the junction at the quarry site. Take the right fork and follow the track(ex) NNE, over a summit at 914m, to its end at another summit, 914m(ex), NN668816. Turn NE and head for the summit of Carn na Caim, 941m. Retrace steps to the quarry site and follow the outward route down to the A9.

Option 2: ?????????? ???? ??? ????? ????????. Two easily bagged Munros with a good start at over 400m altitude. (This option may be extended to A’ Mharconaich & Geal-charn) Start at Lay-by #79 on the A9, NN632755, where ample parking is available. Just N of it the old road may be accessed. Follow this S for a few hundred metres, taking the right fork , which leads down to a passage under the railway. Turn N, following the track near the Allt Coire Dhomhain to a junction, and turn left down to a bridge crossing the river at NN619(80)750(46). Continue up to the end of the track at the foot of the narrow glen W of the Sow of Atholl. A faint path may be followed up the glen to a narrow col at NN618(61)734(64). Turn WNW on to a rising traverse, soon finding an ATV track that leads to the broad col at NN613(75)736(51) at the foot of the NE ridge of Sgairneach Mhor. Follow a path up the ridge, around the rim of Coire Creagach to its summit. Descend gently SW for about 700m then head NW to a large cairn at NN589(38)731(52). Turn down WSW and cross a burn just N of the watershed at NN581(76)729(59). Follow a path NW up the flank to gain the S ridge of Beinn Udlamain at NN579(14)733(55). Climb N to its summit, 1011m. Descend NE to a cairn on a ring contour, NN583746, then more steeply down E before heading NE, over a small summit, 902m(ex). At about NN591750, descend SE to reach the track in Coire Dhomhain and follow it down E to rejoin the outward route back to the start.

Option 3: ????? ???????. A prominent landmark at the northern end of the high plateau on the E side of the Pass of Drumochter Start from the A9 at lay-by #94 on the E side or lay-by #93 on the W side, NN654867. Almost opposite the entrance to Cuaich Cottages, take the gated track SE to join a track beside the aqueduct. Follow the Aqueduct E until near the Loch Cuaich Dam, then fork left to the Allt Coire Chuaich Bothy. 250m SE of the bothy, cross the burn and head NE up the slope to the summit of Stac Meall Chuaich, 822m(ex). Turn E and climb to the summit of Meall Chuaich. Return by the ascent route.
