Please join this community event! We welcome everyone to come and enjoy a Sattvic* Potluck together.
Each month we will host a different speaker who will share a topic on Ayurveda. Since this is our first Sangha, Katrina will give an introductory talk on Ayurvedic Principles, Pulse Diagnosis & What’s Your Dosha? Plus she will advise which foods each individual should favor to balance their own unique constitution.A Sattvic diet is based on Ayurvedic principles, people following it don't eat animal-based foods, such as meat, fish, eggs, and poultry. The diet also cuts a few plant foods, including garlic and onion. Sattvic food keeps a person calm and boosts the immune system. We go a step further by removing dairy and all animal products (vegan.)
What is Ayurveda? Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to The Science of Life.
Ayurveda is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, spirit, and environment. The main goal of ayurvedic medicine is to promote good health and prevent, not fight, disease. But treatments may be geared toward specific health problems.
Katrina is an Ayurvedic Practioner, Pancha Karma Technician & Licensed Massage Therapist for nearly 20 years.
