Agni is a fire that needs adequate fuel. Eating heavy foods and overeating are like putting wet wood or too much wood on the fire. It will be extinguished. If your agni is strong, you will feel light, nourished and clear after a meal, and have no fatigue, heaviness, fullness, or indigestion.Eat mindfully, and then tune to the subtle stages of the process and avoid interrupting the digestive cycle.
Mary Thompson/Mahadivya is an internationally-recognized leader in Ayurveda education, with many years of experience teaching. Mahavidya trained with Dr. Marc Halpern at the California College of Ayurveda and received the titles Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Pancha Karma Specialist in October 1997. In 1999, she studied with Drs. Subhash & Sunanda Ranade and Drs. Avinash & Bharti Lele during an internship in Pune, India with the International Academy of Ayurved. She has continued her education with many Ayurvedic teachers and practitioners. In addition, Mary is a founding board member of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine.Mahavidya’s teaching style is entertaining and enlightening. She has a gift for translating complex principles into easy-to-understand language. She is now a consultant dedicated to spreading Ayurvedic principles, supporting practitioners, and developing protocols to address imbalances using the tools of Ayurveda.
