Aya and the Butterfly is a heart-warming, joyful tale about a little girl who discovers happiness through the incredible journey of the Monarch Butterfly’s metamorphosis. Based on the beloved book by Christchurch author Dr. Maysoon Salama, this enchanting story was written for her granddaughter, Aya— and for all tamariki across Aotearoa. This beautiful performance encourages compassion, empathy, and understanding between cultures, all while filling the stage with magical puppetry, uplifting music, and plenty of fun audience participation.
