AWARD-WINNING SINGER SONGWRITER EUGENIE JONES ELECTRIFIES PORTLAND STAGE
Jazz Week Chart-Topping Vocalist Unleashes Soul-Stirring Performance at the Jack London Revue
PORTLAND, OR – [January 15, 2026] – Seattle-based jazz vocalist, songwriter, and commanding live performer Eugenie Jones ignites the stage in Portland on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Jack London Revue. The evening promises an unforgettable journey where sultry, fresh-take vintage jazz collides with fiery classic rhythm-and-blues enlivened by velvet vocals.
Renowned for her distinctive “smoke & satin” vocals and electrifying stage presence, Jones has earned international acclaim for live performances that effortlessly weave inventive takes on vintage jazz, soulful original compositions, and classic R&B. She will be joined by an exceptional trio featuring Nick Allison (piano), Jonathan Green (bass), and Greg Campbell (drums), promising an evening of unrivaled spontaneity and rhythmic vitality.
Jones’s artistry has drawn praise from critics worldwide. Thierry De Clemensat of Paris Move Magazine calls her “one of the most beautiful voices in the United States, part of that lineage of vocalists in jazz who dazzle with their sheer talent, elevating everything they touch”. George Kanzler of New York’s Hot House Jazz Magazine wrote of her latest album, EUGENIE, “With a warm, husky vibrato, the range of material she convincingly and comfortably covers is striking.”
Often compared to jazz icons Abbey Lincoln and Nina Simone, Jones has written and recorded more than 30 original jazz compositions. Her album EUGENIE spent 25 weeks on JazzWeek’s Top 50 chart, peaking at #4, and was named to WDBC/Chicago's and KUVO/Denver’s Best Albums of 2025 lists, as well as All About Jazz's Best Songs of 2025 list. Her accolades include two-time Earshot Jazz’s Vocalist of the Year winner and Album of the Year, as well as the Jazz Journalists Association’s Jazz Hero Award.
“For me, every performance is a conversation, a series of stories and life experiences that offer a chance to connect deeply through music. We’re bringing an evening of soul-stirring music to the Jack London Revue audience. Guests can expect an intimate journey into fresh interpretations of classics and soul-infused jazz originals that point to the future of jazz.”
Legendary John Coltrane bassist and NEA Jazz Master Reggie Workman says of Jones, “This is an extraordinary singer, songwriter, and a source of light we are fortunate to experience.”
