Plan A is that your child is bracketed with children of the same sex, age, and weight division.
Kids Broad Bracketing (Requires Additional Consent):
It can be difficult to find brackets at times. If your child is unbracketed, with your consent, we will allow your child to compete against children of different age divisions, as long as all children in the bracket are in the same weight division. Additionally, for pre-pubescent children (9 years old or younger), we can allow for mixed-gender divisions. Competing is great, but the safety of your child is more important. No mixed belt divisions are allowed for children. Please think carefully before consenting to broad bracketing. Only a parent/legal guardian can consent to broad bracketing.
Kids Age Divisions:
Tiny: 3–5 years old
Little: 6–7 years old
Junior: 8–9 years old
Pre-Teen: 10–12 years old
Teen: 13–15 years old
Kids Weight Divisions:
Rooster I: Up to 40 lbs
Rooster II: 40 to 47.5 lbs
Rooster III: 47.6 to 55 lbs
Feather I: 55.1 to 65 lbs
Feather II: 65.1 to 75 lbs
Light I: 75.1 to 90 lbs
Light II: 90.1 to 105 lbs
Middle I: 105.1 to 120 lbs
Middle II: 120.1 to 135 lbs
Heavy I: 135.1 to 150 lbs
Heavy II: 150.1 lbs and up
We will not weigh your child on the day of the tournament, we evoke an honor based system. We do have scales however, if we believe your child is grossly above the weight you provided, we will weigh them. If they are significantly above weight, they will not be allowed to compete and you will be refunded.
Adult Bracketing:
Adult bracketing is much more relaxed. Sign up and you will more than likely be bracketed.
