The work of trumpeter and composer Avishai Cohen has a lot of common ground: from modern creative jazz, post-bop and avant-garde improvisation to klezmer. The Israeli musician emerged in the late 1990s and is invariably praised for his musical skill, virtuosity and unique sound. In the Avishai Cohen Quartet, he leads the way, closely followed by his old musical comrades - pianist Yonathan Avishai, bassist Barak Mori and drummer Ziv Ravitz. Recent recordings by the quartet such as Into the Silence and Cross My Palm with Silver excel in atmospheric lyricism, but psychedelic fusion and funk influences also make an appearance on Big Vicious. In the fully improvised and highly personal Naked Truth from 2022, they go on a meditative tour. Concerts by the Avishai Cohen Quartet are a unique experience every time. Jazz of the highest level!

Le travail du trompettiste et compositeur Avishai Cohen a de nombreux points d'accroche : du jazz créatif moderne au klezmer, en passant par le post-bop et l'improvisation d'avant-garde. Le musicien israélien a émergé à la fin des années 1990 et est invariablement loué pour ses compétences musicales, sa virtuosité et sa sonorité unique. Il est à la tête de l'Avishai Cohen Quartet, accompagné par ses partenaires musicaux de longue date : le pianiste Yonathan Avishai, le bassiste Barak Mori et le batteur Ziv Ravitz. Les récents enregistrements du quartet, tels que Into the Silence et Cross My Palm with Silver, se distinguent par leur lyrisme atmosphérique. La fusion psychédélique et les influences funk font également leur apparition sur Big Vicious. Sur l'album Naked Truth de 2022, entièrement improvisé et très personnel, ils se lancent dans une dimension méditative.
