AVARA on on taide- ja teknologia-alan verkostoitumis- ja yhteiskehittämistapahtuma. Kansainvälisessä tapahtumassa keskitytään uusia teknologoita ja taiteellista osaamista yhdistäviin teemoihin kulttuurin kentällä ja luovilla aloilla.
Vuoden 2025 AVARA-tapahtuman teemana on PLAY. AVARA on osa Oulu2026-kulttuuripääkaupunkiohjelmaa.
Kaksipäiväinen tapahtuma koostuu uusiin teknologioihin ja taiteeseen liittyvistä keynote-puheenvuoroista, paneelikeskusteluista, työpajoista, yhteiskehittämisestä ja esityksistä. Tapahtumassa kuullaan taide- ja teknologia-alojen kansainvälisistä esimerkeistä, käytännöistä ja innovaatioista.
Vuoden 2025 tapahtuman pääyhteistyökumppanina toimii sveitsiläinen ArtTech Foundation, joka tuo tapahtumaan luovien alojen start up-yrityksille suunnatun kilpailun. Kilpailun voittaja valitaan tapahtumassa, ja voittajalle on luvassa 10.000 euron suuruinen ArtTech Prize -palkinto.
Tapahtuma on pääsääntöisesti englanninkielinen.

AVARA – Art & Tech <3 Play is a networking and co-creation event in the fields of art and technology. This international gathering focuses on various themes of digital and sustainable development within the creative industries and the field of culture.
In 2025, the theme of the event is PLAY. AVARA is part of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture program.
The event is specifically aimed at art and creative professionals, as well as students, who are interested in exploring digital possibilities in their creative work.
During the event’s two days, there will be keynotes, discussions, workshops, co-design sessions, and performances related to new technologies and wellbeing. Professionals from diverse countries will showcase projects, share best practices, and highlight the latest developments in the field of art and technology.
The main partner for the 2025 event is the Swiss ArtTech Foundation, which will host a competition for creative industry startups. The winner of the competition will be selected during the event and will receive the ArtTech Prize, worth €10,000.
The content of the event is primarily in English, unless stated otherwise in the program.
