AVANZA is the entry-level Mojo Movement performance team, designed for dancers who want to experience performing, train with purpose, and be part of a supportive team environment.In 2026, AVANZA will be working towards a performance at RUMBIA Festival of Latin Dance

This team is best suited to intermediate to upper-intermediate dancers who are ready to upskill, challenge themselves, and take their dancing onto the stage. Coached by Alex Bryan and Natasha Frost (2025 World Salsa Summit Champion and World Salsa Solo professional female champion)

There are three ways to be involved in AVANZA in 2026:
Option 1 — Dance with an Advanced Dancer
Apply as an individual and be partnered with an advanced amateur dancer (subject to availability).
You may indicate who you would like to dance with; placements depend on availability and suitability.
This option includes extra support and carries a higher fee.
Option 2 — Join as a Couple
If you and your partner are intermediate / upper-intermediate (lead & follower), you’re welcome to apply as a couple and train and perform together.
This option has a lower overall cost.
Option 3 — Apply as an Individual (Partner Matching)
You may apply as an individual and request to be matched with a partner.
Partner matching is based on dance level, work ethic, communication style, and overall compatibility.
Please note:
Partner matching is more likely for leaders
Matching followers is more limited and not guaranteed
Placements will be made carefully to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.
Fees (2026)
$750 per term, per person — dancing as a couple or with another team member
$1,000 per term, per person — dancing with an advanced amateur partner

✔ Includes LocoMojo Level 3 Salsa On2 class
Note:
If you are on a LocoMojo membership bundle, you will receive $250 off per term for AVANZA.

Weekly Schedule (Tuesdays):
8:45–9:30pm — LocoMojo Level 3 Salsa On2 Class
9:30–10:45pm — AVANZA choreography & rehearsal
Term Dates:
Term 1: Tuesday 10 February – Tuesday 14 April (10 weeks)
Term 2: Tuesday 28 April – Tuesday 23 June (9 weeks)
Additional Dates:
Extra rehearsal: Saturday 13 June
RUMBIA Festival: 26–28 June (full pass required – rumbia.com.au)
Performance at RUMBIA: Friday 26 June
RUMBIA pre-party performance: LocoMojo Social (June)
Additional local performances may be added and will be advised closer to the date
Weekly rehearsals and scheduled intensives focus on growth, teamwork, and performance quality.
About AVANZA
AVANZA are World Salsa Solo champions, having won the Amateur Mixed Latin Teams Division.
Being part of AVANZA is a strong pathway for dancers who may wish to work towards competing in the second half of the year, and it also serves as a stepping stone into The Mojo Movement Company for those wanting to progress further.
