About this Event
The Orange Bike Ride at Avalon is part of a national celebration promoting cycling as safe, sustainable and sociable. Building healthy bodies, healthy minds, healthy cities. "Orange Bike Rides" are happening throughout the country in Dutch Week, supported by the Netherlands Embassy. But not just for Dutchies! We welcome anyone young and old 'get on yer bike' and join us for this fun event at Avalon Park, ending at the Dutch Clubrooms in Avalon House. Organise a family or friend group to ride in, dressing yourself and your bike in orange (and/or red, white and blue) and be in to win prizes! Solve the Orange Mystery Trail. Then join the Orange Bike Parade around the Park, before relaxing over a drink and fine Dutch food afterwards. Heel gezellig! Organised by Hutt Orange Bikers in association with the Dutch Club Wellington and Free Ride Naenae.

TIMETABLE:
9.30am: Registration/confirmation of pre-registration open
10am: Confidence course open
11.30: assemble at children's bike park for final judging
11.40: Orange Bike Parade: riders parade around the park for judging, finishing at the Dutch clubrooms - Avalon House, 61 Taita Drive
12.15pm: Prizegiving & speeches at Avalon House (concluding approx 1pm)
Orange Bike Hutt is part of the Dutch community's 'King's Day’ celebrations at Avalon Park. Dutch food and drink are available for sale at Avalon House (61 Avalon Drive) into the afternoon (CASH SALE)
Cyclists travelling to and at the event are responsible for their own safety and cycle security. No liability or responsibility is on the organisers for accidents or loss.
