Tervetuloa tutustumaan monipuoliseen Korvamato – Mediataidetta Kiasmasta -näyttelyyn ensimmäisten joukossa! Näyttely esittelee videoteoksia, joissa musiikki ja ääni ovat merkittävä osa niiden tunnelmaa ja kerrontaa. Äänen kautta liikkuvan kuvan teokset levittäytyvät tilaan ja tekevät niiden kokemisesta moniaistisen. Äänen erityisestä ilmaisuvoimasta kertoo myös aivojen kyky saada musiikki toistumaan korvamatona päässä.
Korvamatojen tarttuminen on mahdollista tässä näyttelyssä, joka sisältää vain hyviä biisejä!
Mediataidenäyttelyn taiteilijat ovat Otto Byström, Dora Dalila Cheffi, Raakel Kuukka, Jaakko Pietiläinen, Pipilotti Rist ja Mika Taanila.
Näyttelyn teokset kuuluvat Kansallisgallerian kokoelmaan. Kansallisgalleria on Suomen suurin kuvataiteen museo, jonka kokoelmaan kuuluu yhteensä noin 43 400 teosta. Kokoelma rakentaa sekä Suomen historiaa että taidehistoriaa tuleville sukupolville.
Korvamato-näyttely avautuu torstaina 15. tammikuuta klo 13. Tekijöitä on tavattavissa avajaispäivänä torstaina 15.1. klo 13–16.

Welcome to be among the first to experience the Earworm – Media Art from Kiasma exhibition!
The exhibition presents video works in which music and sound are a significant part of their atmosphere and narrative. The works of moving images through sound spread throughout the space and make their experience multi-sensory. The special expressive power of sound is also demonstrated by the brain's ability to make music repeat itself in the head without earplugs.
Earworms can be caught in this exhibition, which only contains good songs!
The artists featured in the exhibition are Otto Byström, Dora Dalila Cheffi, Raakel Kuukka, Jaakko Pietiläinen, Pipilotti Rist and Mika Taanila.
The works in the exhibition are part of the collection of the Finnish National Gallery. The Finnish National Gallery is Finland's largest museum of fine arts, with a total of approximately 43,400 works in its collection. The collection builds both Finnish history and art history for future generations.
Earworm – Media Art from Kiasma exhibition will open on Thursday, January 15th at 1 pm. You can meet the artists on opening day from 1 pm to 4 pm.

The installation can be experienced at Oulu City Hall throughout the European Capital of Culture year until 31 December 2026, as can Layers of the Peace Machine.
