About this Event

Learn how to create a natural wreath and decorate it with foraged greenery and autumnal embellishments.

Join Silvie as she teaches a small group how to create a beautiful autumn wreath, perfect for hanging on your door or using as a table centrepiece for the autumn season. Use evergreen leaves, dried flowers, foliage, berries and more to make the wreath all your own.

You’ll get to learn new skills using natural materials and learn about the seasons and what they can offer us. All supplies and tools will be provided. This workshop includes a 15-minute break with drinks and refreshments, including delicious masala chai.

Age limits: 18+

Parking: Parking is free in our small car park, as well as along Kings Road and in Alexandra Park Car Parks.

Clothing: Please wear weather-proof clothing and sturdy shoes suitable for mixed terrains. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the session.

Toilets: We have a small composting toilet available on site.

Wreaths have a long history in many cultures from head dresses worn by the Greek, Roman and Persian empires that symbolized power and authority, to Pagan, German and Scandinavian cultures who used wreaths to honour the sun and the promise of spring. And farmers often used harvest wreaths made of wheat to protect their crops. The circle shape symbolised eternity and the evergreen leaves signify hope and life. Your wreath will last the entirety of the winter season even if kept outdoors, you can then compost it, or save and re-use the woven base for next year.
