In autumn, the Arboretum takes on a cloak of vibrant reds, oranges and burnished browns, all bathed in the mists and dampening light of the darkening year. Join us for this lively and informative tour followed by lunch in the hall!Faith Douglas, our Curator, will lead you on a walk-and-talk around the Arboretum, sharing her passion for the season and inviting you to enjoy a spectacle of autumn colour with our collections National Tree Collections, Acer, Cotinus, and Liquidambar. With glorious canopies at their most colourful, Faith will share some fascinating facts and care tips along the route.
Afterwards, you’re invited to enjoy a light 2-course lunch with a glass of fizz, all served in the dining room of the Hall.
The workshop will take place outdoors so sturdy footwear and suitable seasonal outerwear are essential. However, we also ask that you bring a pair of light, non-heeled shoes with you to change into for lunch in the Hall in order to protect carpets and delicate floors from mud.
