About this Event
Come and join us for some Autumn foraging, with special emphasis on the edible fungi, fruits and nuts which are putting in an appearance at this time of year!
We will wind our way through stunning meadow, hedgerow and woodland, ablaze with colour, to a backdrop of beautiful birdsong, immersing ourselves in nature and following an endless treasure trail of all that autumn has to offer!
We will identify edible fungi as well as pointing out those to avoid… share harvesting, preparation and preservation tips and follow up with tasty recipes.
We will also discuss a little of the folklore and medicinal properties of these incredible plants and fungi.
You will be in good hands, with a Chinese Medicine therapist and chef running the day! Both with many years of foraging experience and members of the Association of Foragers ?
Along the way we will ply you with a raft of tasty treats to get your taste buds dancing and inspire you to create your own wild food at home!
By the end of the session you should be confidently identifying prize edibles and fungi, as well as knowing what to avoid… and heading home with a broad grin and a head buzzing with inspiration!
We look forward to meeting you!
Please remember that no two days are the same and unpredictable weather means there are no guarantees about what we will find!
Fungi in particular follows no predictable calendar!
Our foraging routes are carefully selected however to offer you a full and varied experience.
