Nysha Marian - R&B/Pop, Ron Loos - Bluesy Folk Rock, Aurora Bella - Singer-Songwriter/Indie/Folk.
Regina-based Nyasha Marian is a Zambian-Canadian artist who makes R&B and Pop/Afro-pop music about love. Known for her smooth and soothing vocal tone, her songs remind us that loving ourselves first helps us connect better with others. Through her different musical projects, she encourages everyone to start with self-love, which then makes it easier to show compassion and build real connections with others. Nyasha has released two singles this year and is working on her upcoming EP release "Butterfly," which symbolizes the four stages of personal growth and transformation – just like how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly through specific stages of growth.
Ron Loos is an award-winning, guitar-slinging singer-songwriter from Regina. Born and raised on the prairies, he is inspired by its vast spaces and living skies. His love and passion for the flatlands and its beautiful people shine through his music and through his mischievous yet charismatic personality. He has played in numerous bands across multiple genres, including hard rock, blues, pop, Celtic, folk, and country, including Z99/C95 StreetRock champions The Toasters and represented Saskatchewan in the Canadian Rock Wars finals. His compositions have been included in multiple provincial compilations, and have received local, provincial, and national airplay. His latest album, Ordinary Shine, was released this fall and is quickly gaining popularity. A delightfully transparent acceptance of musical variety comes through in his recordings, with fragments from multiple styles.
Saskatoon singer-songwriter Aurora Bella explores personal stories and societal observations in her extraordinary, well-crafted, and evocative original songs, often through the lens of relevant themes in mythology or literature. Her work is rooted in an indie/rock base that relates to artists like Regina Spektor, Hozier, and Feist, while her distinctive vocal style, masterful hooks and dynamic groove define her audience appeal. Aurora Bella is a gifted multi-instrumentalist who sings, plays both traditional and experimental piano, keys, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and ukulele. She performs both solo, and in the Aurora Bella Band. She is also the lead singer and rhythm guitar player for Little Darkness, and provides instrumentation for several other projects.
