This year's Autumn Beach Festival will run 16th & 17th September 10-5. It’s down the beach so free to come along!LIVE MUSIC:
The Stage will be just on the promenade with live music all day 11-4pm both days.
SURF COMPETITION:
The competition is being put on by South Shields Boardriders Surf Club.
BEACH GAMES
ROOKIE LIFEGUARD COMPETITION:
South Shields Volunteer Lifeguard Club will be putting on some great events for our rookie lifeguards As well as running Save A Life courses that teach you vital lifesaving skills
BEACH CLEAN:
There will be mini beach cleans running through the weekend organised by local Reps from Surfers Against Sewage. Just pop along to their stall to get the equipment needed.
STALLS AND FOOD:
There will be stalls promoting local charities and business selling goods and food.
PROCESSION!:
National Trust at Souter Lighthouse are holding a spectacular procession of puppets and artistic wonder. The procession will make it's way down from Souter Lighthouse to Sandhaven Beach to join the beach festival.
BEACH OF DREAMS:
An installation of 500 hand-dyed silk flags along the beach creating a beautiful celebration of our coast. Check out the installation here:
YOGA:
We'll have Kundalini Yoga Wearside offering Kundalini yoga sessions and Wellness Space offering a variety of yoga sessions through the weekend.
SURF LESSONS:
South Shields Surf School will be running hour long taster surf sessions for just £10.00 per person including the gear needed.
ADAPTIVE SURF LESSONS:
South Shields Surf School will be running hour long adaptive surf sessions on both days.
SAND CASTLE COMPETITION:
Who can build the best Sand Castle?
STORY TELLING:
The fabulous Tony Wilson will be story telling for the kids at 11am on both days just down on the sand. Come to the information desk on the day to see where to go.
