Come get your VROOM on! Scouts BSA are invited to join us at the Council office to earn Automotive Maintenance and Traffic Safety Merit Badges. This hands-on experience will put you behind the scenes of car care, safe driving, and real-world traffic safety.
While open to all Scouts BSA, this event is especially valuable for Scouts at or near driving age.
Highlights:
- Work on real cars to learn basic maintenance skills
- Explore traffic safety knowledge for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians
- Experience the Seatbelt Rollover Simulator and Impaired Driving Experience with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office
Pre-Requisites:
Before attending, please complete the following:
- Req 1(h): Find the annual registration fee for your family car
- Req 11(a): Research three vehicles (new/used), insurance costs, and operating costs
- Req 12: Explore three career opportunities in the automotive industry
Scouts should also:
- Bring work gloves
- Download and review the Merit Badge pamphlets & workbooks before the event
- Have a parent-signed permission slip (required)
