About this Event

Barcelona Science Park and Eppendorf organize an event to discuss automation of liquid handling for increased precision and reduced variability. Automation is in continuous evolution looking into facilitating transformation of protocols from manual into automated.

There is a wide array of devices available facilitating researchers from academia and private sectors the option to automate workflows specifically, such as paramagnetic bead based purification, or more open solutions to automate potentially different protocols or workflows.

During the event we would like to invite you to learn how automated liquid handling can be performed, and to challenge you to provide a solution in our session such as programming your protocol on our device (or part of the protocol).

Ask us how automated liquid handling could be implemented in your laboratory.

9.30-9.35 Welcome

Arnau Pla, Business and Communications Director, PCB

9.35-10.30 Automation of Liquid Handling for increased precision and reduced variability

Adolfo Molejón, PhD, Automation Commercial Application Expert (Southwest Europe), Eppenford

10.30-10.45 Q&A session

10.45-11:30 Coffee Networking

About the speaker

Adolfo is an Automation Expert for the multinational Eppendorf in Southwest Europe (Iberia, France and Italy). His role consists on facilitating the integration of automated liquid handling equipment and procedures, for a wide variety of protocols and procedures. The epMotion (automated liquid handler) is an open platform for a multitude of protocols, allowing an easy-to-use solution with great impact to researchers and technicians from both public and private entities, improving precision, reliability, reproducibility and importantly health.

He completed his studies at Kings College London, United Kingdom (BSc Biochemistry, MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences Research), and PhD at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa, Spain (PhD in Biosciences), working within the area of molecular oncology.
