About the authors:
Caryn Rose is a longtime music journalist whose work has appeared in Pitchfork, MTVNews, Salon, Billboard, the Village Voice, Vulture, and the Guardian. Her essay on Maybelle Carter was included in Woman Walk the Line.
Allison Shoemaker is a pop-culture critic and journalist. She is the author of "How TV Can Make You Smarter," and a member of the Television Critics Association and the Chicago Film Critics Association. She is also a producer and co-host for the Podlander Presents network of podcasts; their third series, "Podgerton Bridgecast: a Bridgerton Podcast," premieres in July.
