Join Gary Jackson with Sara Daniele Rivera to discuss Gary Jackson's newest book small lives a collection of Afrofuturist superhero poetry. Gary earned his MFA at the University of New Mexico and is currently director of the Center for African American Poetry and Poetics at the University of Pittsburgh. He is also the author of origin story: poems (UNM Press) and Missing You Metropolis (winner of the 2009 Cave Canem Poetry Prize) and he is the coeditor of The Future of Black: Afrofuturism Black Comics and Superhero Poetry.
Sara Daniele Rivera author of the poetry collection The Blue Mimes and co-editor of Not Your Papi's Utopia: Latinx Visions of Radical Hope will discuss with Gary Jackson the unique intersection of poetry and science fiction.
