Join us as David James interviews two talented fiction writers, Kris Farmen and Jaclyn Wilmoth at Solstice Books. Wilmoth both writes and teaches creative writing. Farmen is often referred to by James as one of Alaska’s most underappreciated writers. Join us for a free evening of good discussion and tea to find out why!
Kris Farmen is a historian, journalist, and the author of seven novels, most recently the Seasons of Want and Plenty trilogy set in Russian Alaska. His work has also appeared in Alaska Magazine, Mushing Magazine, Russian Life, The Anchorage Press, and the Anchorage Daily News, among others. He lives in Fairbanks, Alaska, with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
Jaclyn Wilmoth writes novels that are memoirs and memoirs that are novels, often with a sprinkling of poetry. She lives in the boreal forest of Alaska, where she teaches creative writing, grows very large kohlrabi with her husband, and tries to keep her daughter away from no-no mushrooms and berries. She is co-founder of Marrow Magazine and founder of Lightning Droplets, a blog about the magic of reading and writing.
