Professor Mohsen Milani is an internationally renowned scholar of modern Iran and Professor of Politics at the University of South Florida. A prolific author, he has published over 80 works in academic and popular journals. His seminal book, The Making of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, is widely regarded as a classic in the field.
In his most recent book, Iran’s Rise and Rivalry with the U.S. in the Middle East, Milani offers a penetrating analysis of the strategic logic behind Iran’s regional posture. He chronicles how a revolutionary regime—long isolated by sanctions and conflict—defied expectations to become a central force in the geopolitics of the Middle East.
Professor Milani has held research fellowships at Harvard University, Oxford University, and Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, Italy. Since 2000, he has delivered lectures at more than 200 conferences across 27 countries. His insights have been featured in many of the world’s most prestigious media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, BBC, CNN, Le Monde, Der Spiegel, and Al Jazeera. He has also provided expert testimony before the U.S. Congress on Iranian affairs.
