Please join us for an Author Talk and Book Signing with Jennifer Hodgetts, author of Lady Fulfilled at the store on Sunday, January 25, 2-4 p.m. Lady Fulfilled is the sequel to Lady in Waiting and is Jennifer's second novel. Jennifer will be in the store at 2 p.m. talking about, reading from, and signing her book. This event is free and everyone is welcome.Lady Fulfilled begins where Lady in Waiting left off. Julie and Alison's marriage has been annulled and Alison is marrying Paul. Now Julie must face life as herself. She seeks solace in the local trans community meetings. Along her journey of self-acceptance, she decides to pursue her dream of gender-affirming surgery. With the help of Women's College Hospital in Toronto that dream is fully recognized. Through laughter, connection and visits back to England, Julie continues to build her new life. Her transition is more than physical, it is emotional, spiritual, sometimes messy but magnificent.
As he journey as a trans woman progresses, Julie continues to attend the trans community meetings, when one evening a new lady joins these socials. It is not long before a new romance erupts and together their lives follow an eventful, newly intertwined path.
Tender, honest and quietly triumphant, Lady Fulfilled is a story of identity, courage and becoming. A journey of finding love, not just with someone else but as the person you always were.
