Join us for Sunday Storytime with Sarah Brannen, author and illustrator of over two dozen picture books, in conversation with figure skater, Karina Manta! Sarah and Karina will read Lolly on the Ice, answer questions, and sign copies of the book!
Tickets for this event are free, but we ask that all guests RSVP as spots are limited.

Ticket holders who purchased a book-included ticket and are unable to attend the event will be able to pick up their book at An Unlikely Story up to 30 days following the event.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
A sparkling winter tale about self-confidence on and off the ice.
Lolly loves ice, and skating on it is her happy place. But when she performs in front of other people….well, her insecurities get the best of her, and she freezes.
When her dad encourages her to try out for the Winter Showcase, she realizes that maybe the spotlight could be her happy place, too. But can she still skate with all eyes on her, especially when she doesn't look like the other skaters do?
This sweetly encouraging tale is perfect for anyone who has wanted to shine--but wondered if they could.
ABOUT SARAH BRANNEN:
Sarah S. Brannen is the author and illustrator of over two dozen picture books. She is the author of Uncle Bobby’s Wedding and the illustrator of the Sibert Honor-winning Summertime Sleepers, written by Melissa Stewart. Sarah is also a figure skating journalist and photographer who has interviewed hundreds of skaters over the years, from Peggy Fleming and Scott Hamilton to Michelle Kwan and Gracie Gold.
ABOUT KARINA MANTA:
Karina Manta was born in Olympia, Washington, but she grew up in the sunshine of Chandler, Arizona. At 16 she moved to Colorado Springs to become an elite figure skater. Despite her distaste for the cold, she kept figure skating and living in Colorado, eventually competing for Team USA. She currently works as a performer for Cirque Du Soleil.
