Presented by author Peter Lion, our program is just in time for the Christmas season featuring the critically-acclaimed book American St. Nick: A True Story that tells the story of a group of American soldiers who, during World War II, help bring Christmas to a small town in Luxembourg, unknowingly creating a holiday tradition that continues over 80 years later. Described as "a beautiful story that brings out the best in us through a simple act of selflessness and kindness," the program will include a screening of the documentary that was made based on the book followed by a Q&A by the author. A seven-time Emmy Award winning producer, director and writer who was born and raised in Connecticut, Mr. Lion still lives here in the state with his wife and their four rescue dogs.Copies of American St. Nick: A True Story and Merg - another true story of an American World War II veteran - will be available for purchase at the program.
Free and open to everyone, please join us in the Community Room of the Canterbury Town Hall for this uplifting program which will begin following a short business meeting at 7:00 PM.
