Otis Library is hosting a program with Maura Casey, author of Saving Ellen: A Memoir of Hope and Recovery, in the library’s Community Room. She will give a talk on “The Top Five Things I Learned from Writing a Memoir.” Maura has been a professional writer for 40 years (17 years at The Day, 8 years at The Hartford Courant, and 3 years as a member of The New York Times editorial board. In the course of writing Saving Ellen, she found that a memoir is a very different animal than writing an opinion column. She has put together a program to help others tackling their own memoirs save time and angst!Free program; no registration is required. Copies of the author’s book will be available for sale and signing following the program. Otis Library was designed to accommodate people of all abilities.
