Saturday, 09/28, 3:30-4:30pm, Auditorium: Author, Keisha Alexander is presenting her new book, "Amid The Twisted History: An American Negro Story", at the Pontiac Public Library. Participants will be able to purchase signed books. Registration is required! Register ! Author's Bio: Keisha M. Alexander was born in Pontiac Michigan. She grew up in the Lakeside Homes housing project with her family. Keisha is a 1988 graduate of the former Pontiac Central High in Pontiac Michigan. Growing up Keisha was a curious child who asked her mother many questions. One of those questions has taken Keisha a lifetime to figure out and understand. Now over forty years later she can say that she is who her mother and grandmother say that she is. The question and the answer are found in the pages of her book, Amid the Twisted History, An American Negro Story. Keisha’s hobbies are reading the word of God, she likes reading history, and archeology. Keisha loves spending time with Frank her husband of 28 years. Keisha also loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Keisha has been a vegetarian for over 27 years and loves creating new healthy recipes. Keisha likes camping, resale shopping, and making her clothes. Book Description: As a young girl the author once asked her mother where in Africa are they from, but the reply contradicted everything that she was learning in school. It has taken decades for the author to finally be able to say, with confidence, that she is who her mother said that she is. in searching for the truth of her ancestry within the history of America and the world, one woman uncovers astonishing information.
