Parnassus Books is pleased to welcome Kwame Alexander to celebrate his new book, How Sweet the Sound: A Soundtrack for America, in conversation with local musician and artist Rod McGaha.

This is a ticketed event which will take place IN STORE on Thursday, January 16th at 6:30pm Central Time.

Tickets:

Each ticket is $20.75 and includes one seat and one signed copy of How Sweet the Sound: A Soundtrack for America. Books will be pre-signed. There will not be a signing line and Kwame is unable to personalize copies.

Featuring artists ranging from Miles Davis to Kendrick Lamar, dive into this stunningly illustrated celebration of the history of Black music in America by the award-winning author of The Undefeated .

Come dance to Kwame Alexander's melodious narrative of the history of Black music in America, accompanied by the vibrant illustrations of Charly Palmer.

The book includes extensive back matter, providing even more context and history about the music and musicians.
