Join the Buncombe County Special Collections Library as we welcome author and former Water Resources Director Michael Holcombe to discuss his new book. “The Story of Asheville’s Water” is one of ingenuity and resilience from the placement of the first water filters on the Swannanoa River in the 1880s to Hurricane Helene.
This event is presented in conjunction with Come Hell or High Water, a community memory project documenting the historic impact of Helene on Western North Carolina.
Visit specialcollections.buncombecounty.org/helene to learn more, or browse the community archive and contribute your story at helenehistory.omeka.net.
