American-born Jennifer traces her journey-both on and off the yoga mat-reckoning with her adopted country (Israel), midlife hormones (merciless), cross-cultural marriage (to a Frenchman) and their imminent empty nest (a mixed blessing), eventually realizing the words her yoga teachers had been offering for the past twenty-three years: root down into the ground and stay true to yourself. Finally, she understands that home is about who you are, not where you live. Written in experimental chapterettes, Landed spans seven years (and then some), each punctuated with chakra wisdom from nationally-acclaimed Rodney Yee, her first teacher.
About the authors:
Jennifer Lang is a San Francisco Bay Area transplant in Tel Aviv. In September 2023, she gave birth to her first book, Places We Left Behind: a memoir-in-miniature; in October 2024, she welcomed Landed: A yogi’s memoir in pieces & poses into a different world. Both books are unconventional, very Jewish, Israel-centric, and true. Her writing focuses on identity, voice, faith, belonging, and home. A graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts, Jennifer has been teaching yoga for over two decades and served as an Assistant Editor at Brevity Journal for several years.
Lisa Niver, renowned for her award-winning memoir Brave-ish: One Breakup, Six Continents, and Feeling Fearless After Fifty, is a seasoned travel TV host and celebrated writer. Having visited over 100 countries, she inspires wanderlust seekers globally with her captivating storytelling and videos on her YouTube channel.
