Celebrate Pride with Old Town Books and the Spanish Embassy! Join us in the soon-to-be Old Town Books Junior space for a discussion with Spanish writer Elizabeth Duval.
Born in 2000, Elizabeth Duval has become one of the best-known media voices of her generation. A post-marxist and transgender writer and philosopher, Duval writes poetry, narratives, theatre and essays: in 2020 she published Reina, the first memoir in Spain by a Gen Z woman, as well as Exception, a long poem about the streets on fire. In 2021 she published the essay Post-Trans, and the novel Madrid será la tumba that was praised by critics and readers alike. In 2023 she published MelancolĂa, a sociopolitical essay on how to recover hope when facing a grim future.
She has been invited to Hay Festival, Internationales Literaturfestival Berlin, and phil COLOGNE, among others.
